Got a stripped out nut on the driven clutch shaft on a 1986 G2. What thread size is it or where can I find another. The threads seam to be fine. Thanks for any help!!!

According to the Service Manual, it's an M12 x P1.25 self-locking nut. It is torqued to 43 Ft-Lbs. Hope this helps!

Oh, and WELCOME TO BGW!!! Enjoy the ride! Tell us about yourself and the G2...

Thanks for the help. Trying to upgrade to a torque kit and I stripped the nut trying to get the driven clutch off, still no luck with that.

Should put a new nut on anyway because a kit puts a lot of force on them. Use a puller to get the outer sheave off, they get stuck when on a long time. Its a taper with a key in it don't lose the key. The outback way to get it off is get about a 3/4 diameter bar and put it against the rear side between the ramps from under the bumper. Whack it with a 3lb a few times keep rotating to different ramps. Only hit on the heavy part between the ramps near the shaft. Don't look at me if you screw something up doing it that way, but I've done it and it worked. It flies off if you don't have the nut part way on. Never do anything with the outer part of the sheaves, they break really easily.
