Default Axle dia/spline count?

Been searching for some rear axle ideas for my orv build (custom creation, a quick vid is down in the sxs forum) and came across the yamaha rear hubs today. They look to be what i'm after strength-wise. I was curious as to what the spline count and diameter is for the axles. What i have at present is a solid-axle swingarm setup, the axles are notorious for failing in HD off road applications, and i've modded both it and the hubs and am still bending them at the ends. working with a "salvage yard" budget ... TIA for any input ...
