Default Shock recommendations for lifed 79 G1

Hi All, I'm looking for shock recommendations for my lifted (6") 79 G1. I still use the original 79 stock shocks. The buggie bottoms out over the slightest bump with two passengers and sits low so i have clearance issues. Wonder what others have used to eliminate this issue. Are oem replacement shocks the answer or something else.

Thank you for your help! Ed

If you are going off road, I'd go with stock replacements, and here's why....

If you use an atv type long travel shock on a single a arm setup, the extra travel will cause the suspension to travel too far which creates alot of negative camber and positive camber at random. Like this / \ or \ / . This can give a very squirrelly feel and is very unsafe at speed.

If you are just putting around in the yard or campground you'll be good either way.

For off road and extra travel, a true dual a arm setup is the best option. During travel the wheels stay straight and steering is not affected.

Yes, I will just be putting around when camping, and need to carry two adults or kids in the rear seat. If I do go off-Roading, it will be nice to have the extra travel. Thanks for all of the feedback everyone!! Looks like 400ex shocks are in my future. :)
