91 G8 fuel pump flow
Had a puddle of gas under my cart this morning. Fuel line between the pump and carb had split at the pump connection. When I took the line off to get new, a small stream of gas flowed out of open fuel pump connection and didn't act like it would stop. Is this normal, or should gas only come out of the pump when the motor is turning to make vacuum to move the diaphragm?

Re: 91 G8 fuel pump flow
Probably not a problem, think mine will do the same thing. But replace all the hoses in there. About 3 feet of each; 5/16" for vacuum, and 1/4" for fuel, starting at the tank. I'd remove the tank, clean it out, new filter there at tank, then replace all from there on.
5/16 is for the pulser line, starting down low, at the front side of the block. I replaced the oil feed lines, that connect to the steel line that travels up the back side of the head to the valve cover. They are 5/16" I believe. |
