can you change the rings in Yamaha golf cart without removing the engine?

Not so much on a 4-stroke. Does it have a cast aluminum valve cover with 4 bolts attaching it, if so it's a 4-stroke. While it is probably possible, it's a bad idea, and much more work than just removing the engine. (an easy job on a yamaha). BTW, what model is yours?

It took me about 15 minutes to have the engine out of my G9, took days to get the clone in lol, but that was before mounts were available I made it all myself. Anyway, for 15 min work you may as well take it out then you can clean and inspect everything. On the 4 stroke yamaha the side of the block comes off and you do all the work through that. Most 2 strokes you can pull the cylinder and replace that, the 4 stroke the block and cylinder is one piece only the cover and head come off.
