Default 2012 Express S4 not starting

The cart was running fine and wouldn’t start back up after we stopped at a light.

I checked fuses that I could find and all are good. I don’t hear a click coming from the solenoid (new) but from a relay next to it. Battery checks as good. The starter WAS trying to turn about a quarter rotation before I replaced the solenoid and now does not. Please help me troubleshoot.

I’ve attached a pic of the relay that clicks when the pedal is pushed.

A volt meter would really help here... I assume it's a single cylinder engine since it's a 2012.

See if you have DC 12 volts at starter... what that does is cuts your problem in half. Do you have voltage after the solenoid?

Trying to figure out if you have control voltage issues or power issues.

Yes. 12 volts at the starter. Where should I check for voltage after the solenoid?

Do you not think its the starter going/gone out?? Especially wit 12 volts at the starter.

It definitely could be but I was wondering if there is a way to test before I start throwing parts at her

Hi,
If you've got 12 volts at starter I would look at starter/generator. Disconnect the battery to be sure that we don't generate another problem. Mark the end caps to
orientate with motor.

They have rubberized caps over the brushes inside . Want to see if brushes are worn out. I normally would take it apart for a clean and check just to see. Easier to see if bearings are good too.

Chances are your brushes are worn out. Not hard to replace for a first time try.
I'll look for a electrical drawing for you.

Keep us in the loop.

Being that 2012 should have a single cylinder engine, I'm not sure why that relay is there. Might be for lights but not OEM. My 2016 doesn't have one.

Maybe chase the wires on the control side to see where they go.

I'll see if I can find the page to test starter/ generator.

Sorry about the curved pages.

If you go to the home page, under gas ezgo, there's a sub title for tech info.
Ruredy added all kinds of manuals .

The early twins and single cylinder models have the same starter set up.
