Default Rethreading input shaft

I removed the clutch on my g2 rear end and was able to strip the threads on the shaft with the puller. Its a 12-1.25 thread but everybody only has the course 12-1.75 die. Is it possible to change to this course thread?

I don't think it would matter about the thread as long as the nut fits securely (meaning get a new nut with that thread). And use one with the plastic insert to help it lock and not back off. Don't forget the cotter pin.

If the 12-1.25 is stripped, then the 12-1.75 won't work. They're both 12mm. You will have to make it a smaller thread.

Thanks for the advice! I found the right 12-1.25 die from oreillys and got the new clutch on.

Ain't that the truth. I'd used ducktape and glue with Cindy's help.

With some strong plastic or copper pipe, ya can't go wrong.
