upgrade speed options
I have a buddy that wants to upgrade his speed so he quits getting passed by the old guys at the golf course. I know about Ezgo and some Club Car, but have never owned a Yamaha. His cart is 07-08 and my understanding is that the only option to up the speed is through the controller at a dealer and that they have to have serial number of cart and controller and then get a code from Yamaha to do it. Runs $125. At least to me this sounds a little nuts, but maybe I am wrong. Are there other easier/cheaper ways to do it?
Thanks from an Ezgo visitor... |

Re: upgrade speed options
That is by far the cheapest speed upgrade for YDREs. It will get you 19mph with stock tires. What is the cheaper way to make your EZGO faster, i cant really think of one.

Re: upgrade speed options
Having the controller reprogrammed is a good way for some cheap speed on the G29 . Also can have the motor hopped up through PQ and gain more top end even with the stock controller. - Mayor

Re: upgrade speed options
Not painted yet. I have everything ordered and delivered, wheels, seat covers, etc. Its at the local dealer getting the speed upgrade, lights installed, battery level indicator, and power point installed. When I get it back I will take the body off. I decided that I am going to plasti-dip it anthracite metallic for now. If I don't like it I can peel it off. $45 rather than $400 for a real paint job. I will put her all together and post pics of my build! Im ready to roll I just need to get it back from the dealer next week.
