Roof Windload Strength while towing at 45* Angle

Thanks for the overwhelming feedback everyone. It seems unanimous, lol.

I like the idea of quarter turn marine HW... I will do that with the roof upgrade when I get that going this summer. As for this trip, I will slide it in the bed of the truck. I believe it's only 80"... truck bed is 96" so I should be good for this trip.

With the new roof, I think I'm going to weld some angle iron to the frame of the RV in the back so I can slide the roof in to a slot under the trailer... That's going to be my strategy anyway.

I'll post some picks this summer when it all comes together.

Another thing to consider is the seat. I have lost one while mine was riding flat in the bed of my truck. A simple ratchet strap fixed that issue on subsequent trips.

Man, that would suck to have a seat bottom coming at you on the interstate!

I've driven my txt with the windshield half-folded and fully up to speeds up to 75mph. However, my cart is sitting flat in the truck bed....not at an angle like his.

I've never had an issue with the windshield even attempting to move or slide. OTOH, my seat came "undone" just one time. It did not fly out but since then I bungee the seat to the cart frame. No further issues.

Yes it would. Fortunately, I was on a two lane highway in the swampy area between home and Baton Rouge. No one was behind me. I heard the "bump" when it hit the bed of the truck on the way out. Saw it just as it went sailing off into the swamp on the right of the truck. Stopped almost immediately, but it was already sinking. I was NOT going into the water to try and recover it. Far too many gators in that area.
