Default Stuck brake drum - success

As many of these threads I have seen ending up with an angle grinder and a cutting torch I thought I would throw this out here. I've been working on this one for a solid week. Blasted it, sledgehammer, rented a puller from advance auto that did not fit and finally bought one from Amazon and it did work. There was no pad left on the shoes and one of them came out in three pieces. It was sure enough stuck. I think I used half a can of pb blaster. Anyway just wanted to post a success story for once. 🙂

Wow not much left of those brakes.
Assuming you manually unadjustested brakes before trying to remove drum.

Brake shoes wore out to point of grinding into drum forming lip on drum that at that point puller was only solution.
Broken parts most likely result of forcing drum off with puller.

Good time to replace brake hardware and check cables for free movement.

From experience once new brakes are installed. Follow manual to the T on cable, equalizer bar, and self adjuster adjustment. All components need to be adjusted as a system to work properly.👍

Yep they were adjusted as much as I could. The brake cables are pretty old too, might replace those as well. I have no idea the last time these brakes were done. Just installed a new.controller etc and brakes is the last thing on the list. At least for right now!
