Default Installing a Walkaway harness on EZGO Curtis 1268 Controller.

Recently got a new controller for my 2004 mpt1000, it came off a 2016 S4. Installed it on my mpt and am getting the 2-5 code. Aux brake or walkaway disconnected. Got my walkaway relay harness in today, didn’t come with directions, wiring diagram, tried to call EZGO and Curtis and got zero help. Can anybody help me or would it just be easier to get a hand held programmer and do it that way?

If you give more detailS, I might have a manual for it (or one close enough to do the job) . Help me help you.

This is what I’m trying to install. It came with no directions. When I checked the fault codes on the 1268 book. It says it’s missing the aux coil or walkaway. I’m just confused to how I install this. I’m very new to the golf cart world. I replaced my old controller from a Curtis 1264 to 1268. Right now everything works but it will only go 2mph bc of this issue.

There is a plastic connector on the new harness and there is one that has a 5 prong connector that has nothing plugged into it on the cart, same color wires but they don’t match up on the plastic connector. I would assume that’s where it connects to and also there is a red and purple wires with ring connectors, thinking those connect to the controller but not sure.

I do not have a hand held. I live in Michigan. How can I get my hands on one of those without buying one or having to trailer my cart somewhere?

Or could I just bring the controller by itself somewhere to get it turned off?

Here is the manual. Look on page 15 for the diagram.. I’m thinking the two black wires go to pins 9 and 23. If you check those with an ohm meter those should be the coil to the relay. If so just hook those up and see if the code clears.

I don’t see the manuel attached, also there isn’t any black wires on the walkaway relay. I think I might just take it into a dealer or wait to see if I can get my hands on a programmer. Thanks for all the help
