Charging for the first time.
I am so new to this.
I plugged the charger into the cart and plugged it in. Do I have to put the two/run switch in the tow position to charge the batteries? |

Re: Charging for the first time.
No. You do have to put the run/tow switch in tow before you disconnect power or do any electrical work on the cart or before you tow

Re: Charging for the first time.
Thanks Scotty, I have it in tow now and it is charging.
It has been charging for 3 hours and has dropped 5 amps on the charger. I guess the charger is working if it will do that. I'll know more in the morning. |

Re: Charging for the first time.
That sounds right! Let it finish and an hour or more after the charger shuts off get a battery pack reading and all individual battery readings with your DVM.... Post the results here and we can see what kind of shape the pack is in? Good luck

Re: Charging for the first time.
I plan on doing that, but all my digital VOM are at home. I am at my son's house and
I do not think he has a meter. Thanks again Scotty |

Re: Charging for the first time.
UPDATE!!!!
After 6 hours the amp meter now reads 13 amps. The batteries are bubbling and slight heat is coming off them. Since the previous owner said he had not charged them in 5 weeks and there were several corroded terminals, will it take longer to charge? In the morning I will check them with an analog meter and maybe get and idea as to their condition. |

Re: Charging for the first time.
The batteries charged through the night. When got up this morning
the charger had shut off. I assume they are fully charged. Do not have a VOM to check voltages. |
