hey everyone i am new here and i have a electric 36 volt w/5 solenoids i jacked the rear up and slowly pushed the pedal and when i hear the first click it goes wide open the other 4 clicks dont seem to make any differance any suggestions on what could be wrong? thanks .james

Sounds like it's either improperly wired or the 5th solenoid is stuck in the closed position.

or 1st 2nd and 3rd speed soleniods are bad........not all that common but commonenough...................................... ....

Was the cart that way when you got it or has anything been done to it before this started? As TAHOEDAWGZ71 says with 5 solenod carts its possible that that the last one ( passenger side of resistor board ) is stuck on? BEWARE while checking with cart jacked up be very careful to not allow motor to run up in speed as it can throw the armature as it only takes a few seconds of jumping to ruin your motor when its unloaded by being on ground and as you will be leaning over batterys it could be you hit by flying parts. Some years ago I had a neighbor that this happened to and he was lucky enough to only have cuts in his arms rather than his head?

thanks everybody this is a cool place for information. i just started searching and reading threads and from information i saw here i thought it might be a stuck solenoid. i just went and bought 5 new solenoids. i just went ahead and bought all new.and just got done installing them and this thing runs like a top now thanks agian for all the info. there is alot of good post here if one just reads thanks ......james
