Default What the HECK with these GEL batteries???????????

https://www.chilweebattery.com/motiv...4-evf-150.html

So my Chinese cart has Chinese batteries, go figure... haha!
They are Chilwee 4-EVF-150 "GEL" batteries.

Web page says,,,,
Open Circuit Voltage (V/Block) 8.53V - 8.93V
Does this mean they are dead at 8.53 volts and full at 8.93?
How low can I discharge these ya think?

Thanks for any help!!!

I don't think they are "spent" at 8.53V. If you look at this web site: https://www.energymatters.com.au/bat...20six%20cells. you see that a 12V GelCell is fully charged at 12.85V and fully discharged at 11.8V. These voltages are taken when the battery is "at rest" with no significant load on them.

I would believe the 8.53V - 8.93V is the fully charged number. That being said they don't give the fully discharged voltage.

I know this doesn't answer your question, but it may give you an indication of what the range is, or give you some additional reading to do a search.

I stopped at Lowes today to pick up a few items. In the front area of the store sat a new coleman electric golf cart. I flipped up the seat and it had Chilwee batteries in it. I didn't get a great look but they did not appear to be serviceable. Reading this thread was the first I had heard about them until today.
