85 Club car belt slipping problem.

yes that would be the easiest thing if it were.................i have never heard one make noise while driving slow but than again i have never heard a cluch belt make noise while driving slow either..............i re-read the 1st post and have to agree if its doing this from a stop uphill than good chance its the starter belt not the clutch.................................

I just bought a 85' club car and i have a problem with what sounds like a belt slipping problem. When in an uphill start it will just slip and growl untill i get moving..then it will run just fine. When i'm moving at a slow idle it will also slip.

I Bought a new belt and replaced the old one, but still the same problem. Would this be a problem with the primary clutch??
