Default when to plug in the charger?

I have a 2001 electric club car. Me and the wife went about 16 miles the other day picking up trash along our countrys roads. My question is when i pull it in the garage is it ok to just plug it in or should i give it some time to settle.

Thanks guys I was alittle unsure. I normally just plug it in the next day and let it charge why im at work. It has new batteries so it doesnt take to long till the charger shuts off and she is fully charged.
