Re: 2002 Club Car power issue
Definitely let us know the outcome and when You gently tap the new magnet, use a large wood dowel so You know that the magnet will end up flush with the shaft.

Re: 2002 Club Car power issue
David, I will contact your company in the morning and order the parts. I do have a question though. Do you have any tricks for removing and installing the magnet ? It looks kind of tricky getting the old one out.

That sounds good. I'll give you a play-by-play description over the phone in full detail. Look forward to your call.

Re: 2002 Club Car power issue
First I would like to wish all of you a very merry Christmas and a great 2016. Well my cart seems to have been cured with the help of several really great guys on this forum. After some very detailed troubleshooting. I determined that either my speed sensor and or magnet were faulty causing my cart to run between 7-9 MPH. I decided to change both and know I had good parts going forward. I ordered the speed sensor and a "speed magnet" from David Hicks (aka) TahoeDawgZ71 at Revolution Golf Cars. Upon getting the parts and then going about changing them I discovered that the magnet was installed backwards. After installing the magnet and speed sensor "correctly" the cart runs between 17-18 MPH. What a difference! There are three people that were instrumental in diagnosing then guiding me in the right direction. Sergio, mr golf and TahoeDawgZ71 thank you for all your help I cannot begin to tell you guys how much I appreciate everything. To the rest of you folks, when one of these three offers advise do yourself a favor pay attention to what they have to say. Thanks again, BobbyT

Thanks, Bobby T, I sure don't rank anywhere near as knowledgeable as David and Sergio, I just remember things I learn the hard way.

Re: 2002 Club Car power issue
One last post about my cart. I took it this morning with GPS in hand and was pleasantly surprised to find the top speed was 21 mph. Thanks again to all those that helped me get this thing figures out. Happy New Year to all.

Yep, those GE motors love the speed magnets.
