Default Longer front leaf springs

I have a 2001 Ezgo txt cart. Recently I changed out the front cowl to a Workhorse cowl and added fender flares. The cart is lifted with 22" wheels. Everything worked great, until I added 2" wheel spacers. Now the tires rub on the fender flares when turning tight. I like the wheel spacers and I don't want to lift the cart any higher. Is it possible to extend the front leaf springs by 2" or 3" so they will clear? If so, where would I get longer leaf springs?

Actually they make a 2 inch longer spring depending on which ones you have, they measure 20.5 " hole to hole in stock replacement
OEM#70431-G01 (#28
and HD
OEM #70422-G01P (#295)

(aftermarket part #)

Thanks for the info scottyb. I just measured my HD leafs and they are 18.5" long (hole to hole) so it looks like the 20.5" will work. Were can I buy the extended leafs? Can you send me a link?

Also, I my cart measures approx. 15.25" from the ground to the bottom of the rocker. Will the new leaf springs give me the same stance?

I actually just found the spring online by doing a search, however I noticed that it is for a gas cart. I have an electric cart. Will that matter?

The ST springs also give lift.

Default Re: Longer front leaf springs-new problem

I finally got my new front leaf springs installed today, and it looks like I now have the clearance I needed on the front end. I have not taken it out yet since i need to extend my steering linkage (I will do that in the next day or so).

After looking at the new set up, I noticed I might have a new problem. Since the new leaves had a different design I noticed it caused my axle to pitch forward. Therefore, my spindles are no longer perpendicular to the ground (now at an angle). I assume this will be an issue and will add stress when I try to turn? Do I need to worry about this, and if so, can it be fixed?

The steering will feel heavy and not return easily after a turn.Measure the angle of the king-pin with an angle-gauge,you want it 0 or close to it.You can take the springs and have them bent up a little at the flat front-section,or add a tapered-shim to bring it back up.Hope this helps.
