plum quick motor vs. stock
I just installed a plum quick motor on an 2002 yamaha electric.
This post is for my information only. The stock motor or cart would run about 17 mph,and the new on will run about 25 mph.My question is why don't they require a change on the stock solenoid, wires, controller. All the up grades that I know about requires all of the above change. Why don't they have to do the same thing to gain more speed????and why is this not more cost effective way of getting more speed with out all of the other changes. Thanks Sonny |

Re: plum quick motor vs. stock
The motor is simply wound for higher RPM operation on stock voltage. It is also now the strongest link in your powertrain, and is gonna pull more amps that the stock motor ever did. This will eventually stress the weaker components, one at a time perhaps, and it's hard to say how long the components can tolerate it. You can take your chances and leave it all alone (stock) if you like, but something will give somewhere. Sooner now because of the added stress.

Thanks for the information.
I can see how that could be a problem.but for someone that is just going to golf It might last a long time. Stumpy |

did you lose much torque with your new motor? I would expect it to be a pig on hills.
