Default Keep burning up forward reverse switch

I have an '04 EZGO TXT that had a bad motor in it so put a 4hp motor in and then burned up the forward reverse switch 6 months later. I replaced 2 more times each time 6 months last time I put a high amp forward reverse switch in and just burned the contact up again. Not sure what to do this time? I am tired of replacing the same part.

If you upgrade just part of the delivery system you can create a bottle neck which creates heat. Have you upgraded cables? Controller? Is the cart lifted with bigger tires? Is it used off road or have a rear seat?
All these things can add to a cart motor's load which effects current draw. Current drawn is melting your 'heavy duty' switch... assuming connections are tight.

The cart is not lifted and does not have a back seat and still have the stock controller really just use on stone or pavement. I have not beefed up the cables just have the standard 6 gauge. If I were to do cables what gauge would be recommended and which ones would need done?
