Default Front end frustration continues

I have been trying to figure out why my front end shakes violently on my 04 TXT when hitting a bump. Only does it when hitting bump with the right front tire while moving at a higher speed. I have checked everything on the front end. The only thing I see and hear is that there seems to be a lot of play and slop in the steering box. When jacking up the front end of the cart and grabbing either the left or right front tire and moving it as you would to check wheel bearings there is a ton of slop in the steering and both wheels. Steering also makes alot of creaking and popping sounds. My question is how much play if any should be in the steering box. And would you agree that it may be time for a new one. Any input greatly appreciated.

Have you removed the front right hub assembly and check the bearings?

I'd probably be changing the steering rack ASAP if it's that noisy and sloopy. A little play is normal but what you are describing is not.

Looked at it some more and I would say its shot. Have a new one on its way.

For whatever it's worth, my 95 has about 4-5 deg of slop from center to engagement either way.

Cool Re: Front end frustration continues

Finally got the time to install the new steeing box. No more shaking when hitting a bump with the right side.
