Quick Charge battery charger mounting options?
Just received my Quick Charge 20A 72V on-board charger. It doesn't mention mounting in the manual included. I am wondering if I can install it sideways with the control side facing up?

Re: Quick Charge battery charger mounting options?
Pay attention to any vents it has, make sure they have lots of clearance around them.
High and dry is my recommendation. |

Re: Quick Charge battery charger mounting options?
No vents, it's a sealed water resistant unit.
I may just have to call and ask the manufacture if I can mount it sideways. http://quickcharge.com/select-a-charge-on-boards.html Attached is the 3d diagram showing all sides. |

Re: Quick Charge battery charger mounting options?
FYI, mine is plugged in now. It gets MEGA hot!!
I'd go with Scotty's advice of venting. I had mine against sidewall but had to pull it out. I may raise it with washers by about a corner inch to vent. |

Re: Quick Charge battery charger mounting options?
I believe Scotty was asking is the charger had vent holes. It obviously does not. I would of course allow an inch airspace all around the unit.
I have left a message with QC asking if I can mount it sideways. I'll post their reply when I get it. |

Just got my answer! See below.
John: Yes, you can mount it anyway. Sincerely, Ray From: John Sent: Monday, December 03, 2012 6:54 PM To: quickcharge@icnet.net Subject: select a charge mounting options I received my QC Select a Charge 72V 20A battery charger (SCO7220). There’s nothing in the operators manual on mounting. Can I mount this unit sideways with the control side facing up? Thanks! John |

Re: Quick Charge battery charger mounting options?
I forgot to mention how much this charger weighs. It's of course the 72v, 20A version and tips the scales at 42 lbs! Beefy just like me!
