97 TXT with DCS wont climb an incline??
My newly purchased 97 has 3-yr old Trojans, newer controller less than 2 years old. Factory motor from what I can tell. I charge the batteries to full charge. Water is good. Cart runs great on a flat surface, but any incline it makes a growling noise from under the seat or rear driver side. Makes no sense to me, but any input from the specialists??

Re: 97 TXT with DCS wont climb an incline??
May be a stripped hub.
Take the dust covers off to expose the castle nuts on rear axles. Gentle and briefly apply power with parking brake set with someone watching the castle nuts. If the castle nut turns, but wheel doesn't, the splines in the nub are stripped. S[lines on axle are harder, but may be damaged also. Replace both hubs, the other one probably isn't far behind. Here is a HD replacement: http://www.cartsunlimited.net/Ezgo_Pinch_Hubs.html |

also what guage wires are you using. I suggest 4ga min, and since its an older cart i suggest you replace them anyway. |

I will check the hubs tonight. I put new cables on about 3 months ago, believe they are 4ga from CPP.

Agree with Johnnie...only other thing that would cause growling noise on incline would be input shaft splines or motor coupler stripped out...which is far less common than a bad hub...but would be the next best guess if hubs are fine...
