Default Starts off fine then slows down to about half speed.

I have a 98 ezgo if starts out fine then slows way down to about half speed, batteries are new just bought last week so that can’t be the problem, bought them thinking that that was the prob, anyways when I read the voltage coming from the control box to the motor it starts out on 39 volts then slowly drops like it is supposed to until it gets to about 6 volts then the hole cart will slow down and the voltage will jump back up to 20 volts. Replaced the motor and still doing the same thing. Stuck any help would be nice.

Maybe the solenoid is welded shut? The controller has a safety slow down for this,
Or it could be a motor speed sensor if you have a model with that feature.

What type drive system, series or DCS?

What is the battery pack voltage when cart is sitting still?
What is battery pack voltage when cart is misbehaving?

You said you read the voltage from the controller to the motor, please be more specific. (IE: negative test lead on battery pack's main negative terminal and positive test lead on A2 stud on motor, or wherever the test lead were.)

If you have new batteries and a new motor, the problem is most likely something in between the two (Controller, cables, solenoid and/or F/R assembly if series cart) but need to know which type drive system to troubleshoot.
