18ga is way too small for anything but LED lights.

my 12v dc tire inflater kept blowing 15a fuses at start up .. put in 20a and not blowing ...
i run 16 g wire only

Wire length plays a big part on how much current it can handle, typically in carts it isn't much but you must consider it and the load it will be carrying.

The wire going to the accessory outlet is indeed 14 gauge. I played it real conservative and put a 10 amp fuse in. If it blows, I'll jump up to a 15. I'm probably going to be using it to charge my phone 90% of the time anyway...

I used a 3amp on my power outlet. Don't want anyone pluging heavy loads to it.
