![]() A couple of years ago I upgraded my 2001 txt to a navitas tsx 600a controller. I also upgraded cables and solenoid. Everything worked decent with my lead batteries and didn't have any major issues.
Fast forward to this year. I purchased a 48v lithium from CloudEnergy. I got the 105ah with 250 amp BMS. It seemed to be fine for the weekend. I then came back the following weekend and installed the CloudEnergy battery indicator device plus I hooked up the charger to be permanently installed. Anyway today I was driving it around and it kept shutting down. At first it seemed to be when I go over bumps but I realized that the bumps was causing my foot to bounce on the pedal/throttle. I then made some throttle adjustments and it seemed better but it still happens when it's going down hill using regen. Basically it'll shut down for a few minutes. Toggling key and/or tow switch has no affect. I have to wait for it to decide to start working again. The battery isn't showing any issues and I still hear the solenoid click..it just doesn't go until it presumably "cools" down. I didn't noting any errors on the navitas although I may have missed something. I did read something about the regen causing some sort of issue with some lithium batteries that causes the controller to shut down the cart because the battery isn't accepting the power back through the regen. Is there some setting I'm missing. The tsx controller doesn't seem to have a setting for the battery type. |

![]() Does your Navitas controller link to a phone app that allows you to select the type of battery that you’re using? Doess this usually happen when the battery is fully charged?

![]() It does have a phone app but the Navitas App doesn't seem to have a way to select the battery type. I could have sworn when I first set it up I needed to choose "lead battery" but now I can't seem to find a place that even shows what kind of battery it's set up for.
It seems that only the TAC (AC) app has that option. The TSX (DC) app doesn't. I would think it still matters for DC. But maybe not? |

![]() Have you tried calling Navitas support? If you think the app worked before but not now, try re-installing the app again. Or call their tech support. 844 576 2499

![]() I'll give them a call. It's possible it wasn't actually a setting in the first place and I'm just remembering wrong. It was a couple of years ago. I have advanced settings turned on as well. I think that maybe it was never there, but they still may be able to help with tweaking the settings for my specific setup. I can't run the cart on hills without regen. It would just roll without stopping. The manual break is more of a parking brake than a stopping brake. Regen is the main break.

![]() I don't know if my experience will help you, but I had a similar situation. I have a 2017 48v TXT. I installed an Alltrax controller back when I had lead acid batteries. And I don't recall having to set a battery type. I set the regen in the Alltrax software to 100 because I liked the strong braking effect that gave me when lifting off the throttle. Fast forward to now and I've installed a Vatrer lithium battery. When I lifted on the throttle the battery BMS would shut down (the fully charged) battery to protect it from the in-rush of regen amps. A minute or two later the battery BMS would turn the battery back on, and the cart would work fine... Until I lifted off of a hard acceleration again. Then the BMS would trip again. My solution was to reduce the regen setting in the Alltrax to 75%. Problem solved.
