Default Denago Nomad XL settings

Adjusted some power settings for my Denago Nomad XL. I went fairly conservative adding a whole 3 MPH to 28MPH getting to full speed in 11 secs. Increased reverse speed a little bit, but most importantly to me, increased the torque to hold speed up the hills. Nothing too drastic, but nice and smooth.

glad to hear that you've got this working now!

what did you set as your max rpm?

did you run into any tuning problems or difficulties with the programmer that you can pass tips along?

Thanks. I went conservative with max RPMs at 5000 vs 6000. I took the time to make sure understand things before any changes.

I initially tried your FJproject excel file settings which increased speed, but slowed down acceleration with a nice long ramp up… this is a great start to get a feel for the settings and not break anything. However, I don’t feel the need to go 33MPH in a cart.. lol.

Everything went smoothly and no warning received. Later, I will make screenshots of my settings to share.

Holein12 i just got my cable made and program working lastnight and started following your tune. i got 28mph and increased torque from about half way up the rpm to top. nothing on bottom which is where the cart seems to struggle a little. I have not done any brake regen changes yet which i would like to but i noticed after a quick ride up the street and back a fan was on that i have never heard before. Everything still running good with your cart?

@hartlycooter,

I have done a few minor changes since then, runs great. The link below is my new settings. The upper right shows how the acceleration is set at these settings. Everyone is going to be different on the feel etc, so while this might be a safe starting point, make sure and understand what the settings are doing or good cause damage or uneven and jerky ride throughout the gearing (partitions). I am still doing some minor little tweaks here and there, driving around for a bit, tweaking, etc.

Fan came on? what fan/from where? what have temps been before drive and after drive? I haven't noticed any of that at all.

I have not messed with any settings except what you see in the pic below, so I don't know if the regen braking is controlled through the deceleration on the "zonal gear mode" tab or on the "braking torque" tab.

How do you like your Denago? Looking at a Denago EV Rover XL with a bunch of upgrades. Don't know anything about them. Have been looking at the Evolution, I'm guessing they are the same.

I like it. use it mainly for golf, but have 240 miles on it so far, no issues. I have adjusted the settings, as seen in this post, but I have ultimately gone back and reverted back to factory settings. It ran good for the setting I had with zero issues, but at the end of the day, it doesn't matter for me.

with evolution or denago, both are solid choices. I believe both are in the same price point.
