Default 2008 Precedent -- squealing sound when slowing down (not brakes)

I have a new-to-me 2008 Precedent. Bone-stock. It seems to run/drive fine, except if I get it up to full speed and then let off the go pedal, it makes kind of a squealing sound for a bit until it bleeds off some of the speed. This is without touching the brake pedal -- there is no squealing when I hit the brake pedal.

This isn't the typical electric golf cart whine -- it is louder and distinct from the normal electric whine sound.

Any thoughts?

I have a 13 precedent that does something similar only after it sits for an extended period of time.
The best I can figure is the noise is coming from the brushes where they meet the commutator. The noise is exactly the same as what I've heard from alternators and other motors where the sound is obvious and can be traced directly to the brushes. It doesn't mean they are worn out, as typically they are just worn slightly unevenly or have some sort of debris or oxidation on the commutator. Often just cleaning assembly and removing old brush material will help or fix the noise.

I think there is either uneven wear of the brushes/comm surface or there is some oxidation buildup occurring during storage time in the humid weather. Temp changes during spring and fall months (especially here in VA) can cause moisture condensation inside of the motor that may cause oxidation on certain parts.

It goes away after driving for a day or two, so I've never been too worried about it, and haven't pulled the motor apart yet to find out the exact cause.
