2000 club car Ds running slow
Hello, I have a 2000 club car ds 48 volt with brand new Trojan batteries and still runs slow.
About 4-8 miles per hour. It does have time when I feel a boost of power but at best top speed is only 10mph. Not sure where to go from here. |

Does it have one solenoid or two? If two, Make sure both of them are clicking. If the solenoid on the driver's side doesn't click, all power is routed through the resistor coil intended for dynamic braking and will significantly slow the top speed of the cart.

Re: 2000 club car Ds running slow
Solenoid on the driver side has a big resistor coil on it?
Disconnect the pack negative, remove the rear access cover, and remove the wires from one of the small terminals on the driver side solenoid. Test resistance across the small terminals with an ohmmeter, or it reads O.L. or ~ Ohms the solenoid is dud and needs to be replaced. Or You can bypass it and no longer have dynamic braking. If you drive on flat paved roads al the time then it’s not a big deal, but if you drive on a lot of steep hills it’s not really a good idea to get rid of the dynamic braking. |

If it has the big resistor coil it should be on the driver's side. Like FT said, take off the rear cover and get a good look in there.

Re: 2000 club car Ds running slow
Ok so i took the plastic Pannel off the back of the cart and I don’t see a coil on the dr. Side. It just has the ground coming through with some other wires. Next to that in the center is a silver box and then on passenger side there is a black box with with a power wire coming from the passenger side battery and a yellow wire going to the silver box. Both are 4 gauge cables. Thanks for any help I wish I knew more. I know I probably sound pretty stupid! Lol
