Default 87 Club Car DS wheels and tires, what size is best?

It's a road warrior, but like the offroad looking tires what size is best 10 or 12", and what size tire should I be looking at. Just want the look, and the cart is lifted already so should be able to fit most normal sizes. Also dont want to break the bank so what's the most economical size?

1987 had a resistor coil drive system. Is your cart converted to solid state operation yet? If no, consider bigger tires increase load which may lead to resistor coil drive failures, especially at slower speeds.

He is correct! Now I will say I also live in FL and 95% riding on level pavement even with the family on board and never had any issues running 22" tires but throttle was either 0% or 100% unless I needed momentary slow speed. There were a very few select times the cart would come back and I could smell it got a bit warm and that was always when someone else drove it because they would drive it slower speeds. I didn't have the 5 solenoid resistor pack though and I think that's what you have and if you are constantly throttling on and off it may reduce the life of all those solenoids. All that being said I think if you are the primary (or only) driver of the cart and understand that you shouldn't run at slow speeds stay on level pavement you could probably get away with larger tires.

Also when I ran my cart, before the controller conversion, I had 4ga wires through the entire battery to motor high current loop and upgraded my primary solenoid to 400a before the big tires went on so keep that in mind with my above statement.

Well I don't want massive tires, I just like the look of a more aggressive tire. I post a pic of kinda the setup I like, but hard to tell what I can run. Any specific size recommendations would be great.

The resistor system on your cart is not designed for oversized tires. If you want aggressive tires, that's fine. But don't go taller than the factory 18" size. Heavier and taller tires increase the amp draw of the motor and increase the amount of energy that the resistors need to pull from your battery pack. The resistors are not designed to pull any additional amperage than a stock golf cart would pull.

Not an issue, but then what's the actual size I should be looking for? I guess a 205 50 10 tire and wheel?
