Club Car Precedent Surging
I have a 2014 Precedent. Charged it overnight for 14+ hours and took it for a spin around the neighborhood the next day and everything was great. After about 10 minutes I noticed the battery light blinking and when I would go to accelerate it was very jumpy, but would eventually go away after a few second and would ride fine once it was up to speed. Since it was fully charged and the ERIC charger was saying it was fully charged I’m not sure what the issue is here. I reset the OBC as directed and it solved the battery light issue for a bit but it eventually came back after a few minutes and the surging when accelerating was still a problem.
Sincere charger is saying fully charged and the surging only happens during acceleration and not once it reaches top speed I don’t know what the issue is. |

I’ve tested all the batteries and they all come in at 8.3 or higher

If fully charged 8.3 ain't all that great at all... 8.3 volts is roughly 80 % state of charge, 8.5 is fully charged and 8.1 is truly as low as you want to go... What's your total pack voltage while driving the cart?

8.3 might as well be dead. They still "work", but you're not gonna ride very far on them.
You will have to check voltage of the batteries while the cart is driving. This puts the batteries under load and they will show their true abilities. If those batteries are original at 6 years old, they're no doubt done for at this point. More than likely you're gonna see pack voltage down in the low 40v range after riding around for ten minutes. Check each battery individually and you'll have at least one dropping into the 6v range which means it's toast. Considering the age of the pack if it is 6 years old, you're better off to replace them entire pack. |

I tested each battery yesterday after a full charge while standing still and the lowest reading was an 8.45. This evening I will test the pack while driving and see what results I get.
The person I bought the cart from said the batteries were less than 2 years old. Only one battery had a sticker on it showing it was a 2019 battery. |

Two years is a lot of time for poor maintenance or charging habits to take a toll on even the best battery.
What kind of batteries are they? Should have a brand and model number on them somewhere. Post a picture of the label if you can. The original owner may not have updated the ERIC charger to the correct charge profile for the new batteries when they were installed. That can lead to chronic over/ under-charging of the batteries and will damage the plates over time. Water level in the batteries is also important. Are any of the plates exposed? That will make a huge difference in battery performance and drastically shorten battery life. |

I attached a photo of one of the batteries. The water levels are good, that was one of the first things I checked. I’m also not sure about the ERIC charger and if it has been updated

Those are OE batteries from the dealer so no need to update the charger for those.
That said, the PD+ batteries are not known for longevity. They may be on the way out even at only two years old. Like I said before, testing them under load while the cart is driving is the only way to really tell what condition they're in. Rest voltage can be spot on, but if they drop hard under load they're no good. A large drop in voltage when under load indicates the battery has lost capacity. Usually that's due to improper use such as over-discharging (running the cart until it quits) or improper charging habits like not plugging it in after every use. Either of those can cause sulfate buildup on the plates which drastically affects storage capacity and ability to maintain voltage when under a load. Sulfate buildup on the plates can kill a brand new battery in as little as a year, depending on it's usage. |

You need to measure the actual voltage while the car is giving you problems. Put your multimeter on the battery pack with some alligator clips. The positive lead on the main positive terminal and the negative lead on the main negative lead. Drive it and watch your voltage. Make note of the total voltage when the car starts giving you trouble. That will help us to figure out exactly what's going on. Resting voltage doesn't mean anything.
