Default Adding New Batteries to Older ones

I'm in the process of converting my '94 CC Transporter from 36V to 48V. Since it already has a set of Trojan T-105 6V batteries that are barley a year old, I chose to add two more 6V batteries to it. I'm somewhat familiar with the Charging issues of new and old batteries. So, my question is: as long as both the old (6) batteries and the new (2) batteries are fully charged when I install the new ones, I should be in relatively good shape from a charging stand point going forward, right? Any additional advice there to lessen the charging issues, like the placement of the new batteries in the series or where to put the charging wires?

I have a 1050W 48V Lester Summit II charger.

I don't know What type of voltage reducer I currently have, but that's the next item to locate and get a new one. I've read some of the threads on the reducers, and even though I don't have much draw on it now, head lights and tail lights, I'll probably get at least a 30 Amp reducer in case I add some stuff. Thanks, Joe

I think you'll be fine, I did the same thing last year with my Medalist and the pack is doing great. I placed the new batteries in the middle of the pack but I don't know if it really makes a difference.

Good deal! I have a 6 seater and will be adding the two new batteries under the front seat. I figured I would remove one of the short cables between two batteries in the current pack and run new cables to the posts of those batteries. It would in essence put them in the middle of the old batteries. I appreciate the help. Thx
