I did the same and no problem with the voltage. you can get a 2 or 3 wire switch if you want to add accessories . this is like the one i used >

yopu will need to cut off the old cc support off the back of the dash

Well, I ~may have to do this...

Just a support cut is all that was needed?

Nice install and one way to keep you secure but my guess is that this would keep the amateur thieves honest but if someone really wanted your cart they could pop the flimsy dash off in seconds and jump the switch wires..

pretty much maybe a quick file or sand to make smooth

as you can see in jakes pic , its inset about a 1/4 or so

That's one of the reasons that I like the remote switch I posted earlier. The wires to the key switch are removed and attached to the remote unit which could be hidden away from where the normal switch is. Anyone who got into the dash would have to know enough about the carts wiring to be able to recognise which are the wires that used to be on the key switch (the remote unit does not immediately look like a substitute for the key switch).
