Bradshaws = £190
Carryway = £150

Both official Club Car dealers. Although on Amazon they're $20 with good reviews - anyone got experience of these or which brand could be relied upon?

Just wondering if mrgolf and Sergio think this is the likely culprit after doing their tests?

Sounds like the speed sensor is bad. Think about it, if this oem cost 150-190, then one for 20? I don’t think I would trust it.

I have just looked up the price for the speed sensor kits on my records and sit down right now!

Last time i bought some it was £165.41 each, That was in 2018.

Oops, i just seen your prices. Mine was excluding VAT, so assume yours is including VAT

But at £20 on a cheapie, its worth a try before shelling out big money.

You replied while i was editing my last post. I said maybe at £20, its worth trying a cheapie for now. If it sorts it, spend the big money when everything else is sorted out.

Wow, that sucks considering You could buy the chip inside for $2 and fix it yourself:
https://www.digikey.com/product-deta...012-ND/1006587
My speculation on the hit/miss of Chinese speed sensors is the lack of quality control on the technology they steal and copy.

Old Club Cars as well as many other manufactures run those speed sensors at 5v, the Precedent uses 15v (although it would work with 5v).

If the part you get is improperly identified as compatible with Precedent simply because it it the same form factor but the chip inside is the 7.5v maximum variety (designed for 5v systems), it will not last long.

The $2 chip above will handle up to 24v and likely the OEM has a similar specification.

I would remove the passenger side rear wheel for access and remove the speed sensor to inspect the magnet inside first.

Couldn't wait!

See attached. To me, they look normal & in tact. Gave both a dust off and tried again with same results.

So:
- When free rolling forwards (on & in-forward) I get no motor braking or beeping
- When free rolling backwards I do get beeping (on & in-forward & backward) but again no motor braking

How do I know my controller is not just programmed to speed code 1? As the speed seems to match this setting. Is there a way to check/test/bypass other than getting Club Car dealer with an IQDM? Would a speed magnet override this or would I also need to be sure the controller was on speed code 4 first?

Thanks
Guy
