Default Is this the diode or resistor

This is a 2002 CC DS. We haven’t driven it in a while and went to take it out today we got it out of the garage and that was it. After we parked it and loaded it it wouldn’t move again.

With the key on and the F/R switch in either F or R, I hear the solenoid click like it usually does but then nothing happens. The cart doesn’t move.

I have the OBC bypassed and put the charger back on it in balance mode thinking the batteries may have drained. I will check the pack voltages in the morning.

But I went looking around some more and found the solenoid had a wire coming off of it that looked burnt (see attached photo). I’m not sure if it’s the resistor or the diode.

Can anyone identify it?

That is a resistor.

SERGIO, an expert on this forum, answered your same question about a year ago and here is what he said:

"Unless You have a bad controller, That can only happen if the Controller is trying to power the motor and the Solenoid is not closing.

If the current runs through the resistor instead of the Solenoid contacts, it would heat up pretty quick until it burns."

Check your connections to be sure they are tight and free of rust/corrosion.

Also you need to use a multimeter and check the solenoid.

Just to confirm, are the first 2 characters of the Serial No. AQ?
That pic looks just like the green resistor on our IQ OEM solenoid.
A diode will be a black cylinder with a silver stripe on the positive end (pic).
With the OBC bypassed be sure the Blue and White wires didn't come loose.

It’s an AQ cart.

New issue.

I lifted the rear wheels off the ground out the cart in drive and hit the gas. The wheels soon and then stop almost immediately.

Would this be the controller or motor going bad?

Did you confirm the solenoid contacts are being closed?
What is the pack voltage?
You bypassed the OBC, which is the "smart" part of a smart charger.
You "put the charger back on", what charger was that, is it a smart charger?

I think I fixed my issue. After taking the cover off the controller I found a few loose connections. Tightened them up and all is good.

Still going to replace that resistor but the cart is working now.

Thank you everyone for your input.

Pack voltage is high. 53 volts right after an overnight charge.

I’m using a lestor charger

I didn’t spend much time troubleshooting the solenoid after I found the loose connections.
