Re: FYI - ERIC charging algorithm and battery watering
I hope mine is already set correctly because i read through the entire thread and still don’t have a clue of how to check this. We need a video lol

Re: FYI - ERIC charging algorithm and battery watering
As far as I can tell you download the software. Then somehow put a memory stick in the USB port on the charger run the test then look at it using the software. The things that are unclear are when to plug into the cart and the wall. And then how do you change the alorgithm with the memory stick. Like I said a good video would be great.

Re: FYI - ERIC charging algorithm and battery watering
I bought the top of the line CDI box for my rhino I believe it was a MSD had nothing but problems with it after that. It was way faster but it wouldn’t restart sometimes after a quick stop never did figure out why but I put the stock one back in and it never happened again.

Check your voltages (individual batteries and the full pack) both immediately after the charger has stopped and then at least 12 hours after (without moving the cart). Do this on a regular basis and keep a record. If the algorithm you have changed to results in fully charged batteries (as indicated by comparing your readings to the voltage tables) without boiling them dry then you are on the right algorithm and you are good to go. The reason I said this was because originally you said that your batteries were getting a full charge but using too much water so you changed the algorithm and now they are not using the water like they were. That's great but it is possible that they are not using the water because they are not getting fully charged. Checking the voltages regularly will enable you to be sure that they are still getting fully charged even though they are not boiling the water off like they used to. |

Re: FYI - ERIC charging algorithm and battery watering
So I tried to remember everything I did in a step-by-step order, and this is what I came up with. Part 1 is not necessary if just changing the algorithm but it is necessary if you want to verify that the change was successful...
PART 1 - IDAT software I downloaded the IC Data Analysis Tool (IDAT) and User Guide from delta-q technologies at: https://delta-q.com/software-accessories/ When the download was complete, I unzipped the installation package file, and double-clicked on “setup.exe” to install it on my computer. To view the charger’s data, I took a clean, blank USB flash drive (2MB min.) and after a charge cycle was complete and the charger disconnected from my cart, I inserted the flash drive into the USB port on my charger. The charger automatically began to download the data. The download was complete when the charger Indicator showed solid green (approximately 2-3 minutes). I inserted the flash drive into my computer and opened the IDAT software. This showed me the data from previous charges, and most importantly, it showed me that I had charging algorythim #256. PART 2 - Changing algorythim Since I couldn’t find my particular batteries for my Precedent (T875s) listed on delta-q's list of algorithms, I emailed delta-q and they told me I should use algorythim #1. I downloaded algorythim #1 from: https://support.delta-q.com/hc/en-us...eries-Chargers Once downloaded onto my computer, I unzipped the file and then copied it onto a clean, blank USB flash drive. I unplugged my charger from the cart and the wall. I waited about 30 seconds and then plugged the charger back into the wall outlet. (May not be necessary, but wanted to make sure the charger was freshly rebooted). After waiting until the charger light was steady, I inserted the flash drive into the USB port. The indicator light began to flash. After a few minutes, the light stopped blinking and I removed the flash drive. I unplugged the charger from the wall, waited a few seconds and plugged it back in. To verify the new algorythim, I downloaded the charger’s data again (from Part 1) and it showed that it was now using algorythim #1. |

Re: FYI - ERIC charging algorithm and battery watering
That is what I did and it worked. I think where some are having trouble with is trying to figure out what of the files to download for there battery.
