Default Club car / power drive charger

I have an older 2000 club car and a power drive charger.
Just purchased new batteries 6 months ago.
Last weekend I noticed the battery level was down one bar. Didn’t pay much attention as I thought I just left it unplugged (it is normally constantly plugged in)

Then this week I’m down 3-4 bars on the batter meter.
Check the charger and the 15a breaker was tripped.
Click it back in. Goes for 1-2 minutes trips again.

Search google for the answer of how to fix it. Came up with replacing the heat sink and the breaker. Which I did.

Plugged it back in and it seemed to be fixed. Charged for at least 39 minutes and I closed the garage door to go about my night and day. Came home tonight and the breaker is tripped once again. Pushed it in and it tripped after about 5 -7 minutes.

Now I’m at a loss on what to do or try next. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
David

Read this https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/t...roubleshooting and hopefully it is not your transformer and maybe a bad connection. Also, the heatsink has diodes and you need the correct ones. Not sure what the part number was on yours but if it was incorrect, it can cause problems too

You can call David at Revolution to verify the part numbers or needs.

Make sure also that the red wire from the charger receptacle is connected to the pack positive battery post or you will not charge the last battery.

Thanks for the replies.
going through the trouble shooting guide now.
I'm at work so I can't do any of it, but at least now I have some goals to get through when I get home.
I'll double check all the wiring as well.
However, nothing has changed as far as wiring or adding anything. All was working just fine for months and months. Then one day, poof. not charging, just tripping.
I ordered a 1015914 off of Amazon. Looks the same as the one I took off. but I did not inspect the numbers at all. Hopefully I still have the old one.

the one I ordered and installed:

Update:
started the troubleshooting guide that was posted on revolution golf carts.
each battery tested at 8.2
total batteries tested at 49

checked the wiring. nothing broken. but quite a bid of corrosion.
baking soda and water and a wire brush for some cleaning.

tried to charge it, and the breaker tripped at 15 minutes.
parked it in the garage and plugged it back in to see how long it would last the second time. waiting 10. still on. 15. still on. hour. still on.
So I let it charge.

I noticed after a couple hours it went from charging at 13amps to charging at 10amps. I left it alone and let it go overnight.

Next day, battery meter on cart says fully charged. breaker was not tripped!
So it seems like the trouble shooting guide worked for me.

I plugged back in the charger just to see what would happen.
And..... it only went to 10amps and then dropped to 3 amps, never doing the normal drop back down to 0 amps after a short time of initially plugging it in.

I never seen this before, but then again I've never paid attention to this before either.

Is that normal? should it be at 3amps for some reason?

Gauges can be off, but it will never charge down to 0. It will drop to ~3-4 amps and perform the Finish or Topping off and then shut off. That last portion of the charge is when your voltage from the charger is at its highest; ~61-65vdc.
