Default Info Help on CC's

I have a customer requesting a 03-05 CC elec. With a few other options to use around neighborhood. She saw a black one so that is what she wants, but she couldn't tell me if it was a DS or Prec. I think from her description it will be a Prec. I would like some help on them good or bad and what years are the better cart. Do all Prec come with 12 v batteries for those years? Are they any harder to disassemble compared to the DS? I'm not familiar with the Prec at all so any help would be great.
Thanks Craig

Steer clear of the 2004 precedents, unless they have been factory rebuilt. They had major computer issues, battery issues, etc..etc... the list kept growing. So, club car started factory rebuilding them to correct errors.

The 2008 precedents have the option of going with 6 8v batteries which is a good thing. The 4 12v system is nowhere near as durable as the 6 8v. The Precedent is a lot more like the EZ-GO for working on, almost everything can be done easily without a lift. The bodies can be swapped in about 10-15 minutes. The motor has a large access port for removal. The controller and computer are easy to get to.

The front end is not as tried and true as the DS, they use threaded plates instead of nylock nuts, or lockwasher and nuts. This causes the front end bushings to wear out about every 3 years, vs 5-10 on the DS cars. The bearings on precedent and 04 up ds cars are sealed, non greasable bearings.

The electronics on a precedent are identical to the IQ DS cars, except the wiring is a little different. All aftermarket IQ motors/controllers will work in the precedent.

So a 05 would be best one to get? Do most of them have the 8 v or 12 v?

All Precedents have the 12v batteries, and I agree with the other guy the 2004 were not very good! I would still stick with the 2003 to the 2005 IQ carts which were a much better cart.

Not true, the 2008 precedents are offering a 6 8v battery option.
