Default Gas lift kit and tire question...

Hello,
I just got my cart back running and had thought about a lift kit before. I have a 81 Ezgo 2 cycle. I was curious if anybody had any opinions on what would be a good kind of lift kit to get for that model and also a reasonably priced set of the off road tires for it. Since I have an older cart I know it's not too feasible to get one of those insanely priced lift deals. Also, do the kits change out the shocks as well or no? Thanks...

Hey Fingerpicker,
This is the kit I used
http://www.ebay.com/itm/EZ-GO-GAS-GO...item35b59e2595
It is cheap and works well. There are many wheel and tire combinations out there and I ended up with some 22 x 11 x 8 which worked out nicely. If you shop around you will find some great deals I think that mine were about $45 each premounted onto new rims. You will need to ensure that you get offset rims or the rear wheels will foul on the shock absorber. You could also get some spacers but offsets are probably best.
You will not replace your shocks as the kit includes a spacer to make the original fit. It did occur to me to measure the new length and then take my old ones (which are somewhat sad) to my local autostore and buy some cheapies. I think that I found that Geo Tracker shocks were the right size but eventually I got bored with nuts and bolts and grease and promised I would do it one day ...........

Dave , thanks for the info. I felt like an idiot the other day. I had a guy to come by that I sold a few parts to. I was talking to him about lift kits and he got to looking at it and noticed that I already had a 4' lift on front and back of it. He said I was good to go that the person must have just taken their big tires off before they sold it to me. I was like geez. He mentioned to me about getting the offset rims too. I am still learning about these things everyday lol. I am going to look for the 22x11x8 tires. I looked in a few places. It seems like most just sell the tires without the rims.

Some where in here there is a list of car rims that work on our carts. I had the wife's car in my shop next to my cart. I noticed that her 03 focus x5 had rims that look like they may fit my cart. ;) I wounder if she would notice.
