No Power
I have had trouble with my 98 ezgo lately with not having any power to pull it self up a hill. I have run the valves and checked spark and all fuel problems. I believe I have a good amount of blowby in the air cleaner box.
the cart is wired to stay running with the key on. I have heard that it is hard on these Robin 295's to run full throttle for long periods of time, several miles down the road, is this true? Thinking I need to re ring the pistons and hone the cylinders. Any suggestions? Thanks for everyone's help!! |

Re: No Power
Had the same problem I even thought of doing new rings and pistons. But a guy I talk to said check the belt.I thought it can't be that its to easy. But I took off the seat so I could see pulleys and went u a big hill and stop ½ way up it and tried to go up it from a dead stop and shore enough the belt was slipping.

Re: No Power
If that's not it check ur compression to see if u need new rings and pistons. I should be between 80-150psi.

Re: No Power
You may also want to check and make sure the govenor is not stuck and not allowing the throttle to open all the way. Mine did this.

Re: No Power
bunch of stuff you can do to restore it's power, belts stuff like that, fuel filter, etc..
put you a big block in there and you will have all the juice you could want at idle. |
