Brand New Gas Concierge ---Slow 7 mph
Okay, so I just go the brand new gas Yamaha concierge took it for a spin and it only went about 7 mph.
I adjusted the threaded governor bolt about 10 turns clockwise...and it increased it up to about a steady 10 almost 11 mph. (Per Yamaha website I think I says stock/suggested max speed is 15 mph). There is only about 1/4 to 1/2 inch of threading left on the bolt....I'm scared to push it all the way. My question I guess.... The gas pedal seems to have quite a bit of give until the cart actually starts to move forward. So would tightening the cable to the gas pedal make for a quicker take off out the gate? And/or would it actually help to increase the speed once I am on the road cruising? First time Yamaha owner. All previous were Club Car...and they were all stock set at 12 mph and adjusting the governor easily got them to 15mph. My current CC after lift kit, wheels, goes about 23 mph easily. So it feels like a snail in this Brand New Yamaha. Help please:-) |

Re: Brand New Gas Concierge ---Slow 7 mph
Might need to have a buddy to do this. Will also need skinny enough hands to reach the bottom of the throttle body while cable still connected. KEY OFF! Have buddy repeatedly press pedal to max, while you feel for the throttle on the throttle body. Once you find the throttle and get familiar with its workings, have your buddy hold the throttle at max, now you try to twist the throttle further. If it goes much further, you are not getting full throttle. It can be adjusted at the transmission-end of the throttle body-to-transmission cable. Be careful to not adjust it so far that the throttle is already open when the engine starts cranking.

Nothing on YouTube with the efi carts. Take a cable tie (zip tie) and squeeze the governor all the way and tighten the cable tie. Save you a lot of turning on that pesky 10mm nut.

Re: Brand New Gas Concierge ---Slow 7 mph
Will this set it to rev too high?
I want the max factory 15mph without hurting the engine. Since it is brand new. thanx |

Buy a cheap digital tach on ebay and see where your rpms are. Certainly 4000 rpms is not too much. According to the speed calculator that should be about 30 mph.

The FI computer has a built in rev limiter, no worries. After throttle is set right, then adjust governor to set speed.
