Re: 92 club car
A clinking sound when starting means the buttons in the drive clutch are worn out, and that means everything else in it is worn out too.
The belt is probably worn out too. If the top edge of the belt sits down inside the sheaves on the driven clutch, it's worn out. Or the driven clutch is not closing all the way due to wear or damage. |

Re: 92 club car
New clutch and a new belt you should be good. How does the driven clutch look? They can wear just the same as the drive clutch. If it has any grooving or wavy appearance to the sheaves replace that too.
They have to both work properly in order to have smooth driving and smooth action of the belt. A wavy clutch will let the belt slip and will cause uneven wear of the belt. |
