Default G1: how much lift?

I just stripped down my G1 ready to fab a lift for it,I was gonna go 6" but doing the math measuring the height of the stock floor adding 6" plus another 2 for 22" tires = 20" Am I missing something or am I gonna split my crotch everytime I climb on?You guys with a 6" lift don't look that high.

If you want 22's to fit you will need 6" of lift and still may need to trim the rocker panels in the back. Also make sure you push the front forward an inch or two. You may end up buying bigger pants!!

I'm looking forward to seeing pictures and hearing about your experience.

I've got a G1 and want to lift it. I've been scrounging up some ATV wheels and tires for it (on a tight budget). I have a buddy who wants to fab the lift and a rear box for me. He builds wrecker bodies for semis so he has pretty good know-how and access to all the tools and equipment. I'm stoked!

Now...just finding time when we can do it.

Thanks for the replies.
Ron, I just found the specs on your lift in the Lifted Carts section (duh) and like the looks of it so I think I'll fab up something similar and use 20" tires.
The only reason I am lifting it is to make the "car" body look more proportional. I don't need anymore pants

2hawks, I too am on a tight budjet, zero actually, and intend to fab everything myself with what I have lying around the shop
The only expense "should" be the tires.Im even hoping to use the same rims.
I'll post plenty of pics once I get rolling

Is that a homemade or factory lift? I'm guessing with the A-arms it's custom fabricated. What did you use up front and rear? How much lift total? Looking at those tires it's got to be fairly high.

That looks awesome F&S! My tires won't be that big. I've ordered 20X10X8's ,and I gotta wait a month for them
Meanwhile here's a couple pics of the cart with my homemade 4" lift with a 2-3/8" stretch.
