Re: Put my 80 EZGO back together and when I turn the key...nothing.
Ohhh, bless you, bless you, bless you. I can work with this. I think I may have a bogus ignition switch, but this definitely is a good map. Thanks, again!

Re: Put my 80 EZGO back together and when I turn the key...nothing.
O.K., I have another diagram of a 1980-81 Ezgo gas. I connected all wires accordingly. Question...where does the wire from the fuse on the bottom of the forward/reverse plate go to? It does not show up on any diagrams. I assume it goes to ground but am not sure. Oh, the cart is still no start/no crank. RATS!

The fuse runs from the large hot post on the solenoid through the ignition switch, then through the neutral limit switch (if fitted) and then the throttle microswitch and finally to the small terminal of the solenoid. Without this line (and an intact fuse) the cart will never crank. This path is what I was attempting to determine in post 2.

Re: Put my 80 EZGO back together and when I turn the key...nothing.
HEY! I finally got the friggin wiring figured out with all of your help. Thank you very much!!! Love this forum. You guys ROCK! Now...yeah, I'm still in a trick bag. It turns over, but it don't engage. I got fuel and I got spark. I hit the accelerator and it spins and whirs, but it don't go forward or backward. I check the spark plug and it's a tad wet. HMMMM. Bought a new plug and gas filter. The plug is a tad longer than the original Champion. Assumed (I know, bad idea) that the gap is preset on the plug. So, went back to old plug (known good), but to no avail. Ideas greatly appreciated.

Re: Put my 80 EZGO back together and when I turn the key...nothing.
O.K....I have a fused wire from the igition switch to the solenoid connection with the battery cable (side A). This other fuse (a glass fuse) has only one wire coming out of the back and the fuse holder is through the forward/reverse plate on the bottom. I am familiar with inline fuses, but this puppy does not go anywhere. I figured it went to ground for reasons only Jim Beam might make up. Honestly, don't ya think they could be a little more straight forward. Workin on this rig makes me want to go back to workin on FIATS! (Fix It Again, Tony!)

Re: Put my 80 EZGO back together and when I turn the key...nothing.
Well, I got the thing to turn over and I have spark at the plug, but that's about it. When I pull the plug, it is wet so I'm getting gas. Any ideas? The oririnal plug is a Champion5861 and the one I got through Buggies Unlimited is a ngk bp5hs. I don't know the gap setting. I am using the original because I know that it worked good before I took the cart apart.
