Re: 99 txt dies intermittently
I`ve never seen a pulsar fail on its own, check and double all wiring

Re: 99 txt dies intermittently
Me neither I think you need to look else where at switches or wiring as well.

Re: 99 txt dies intermittently
I cleaned the ground and checked the wires again. I can hear the solenoid clicking and it rolls over and I know I'm getting fuel the plugs have gas on them. Ive just at a loss. I did remove and clean the pulsar last night hoping that would help. **** that thing is a pain to get back in.

Make sure you have 12volts going to the ignitor, if you have all good conections going to the ignitor, i think its the ignitor

Re: 99 txt dies intermittently
I got took every connection apart and tighten the butt connections and put dielectric grease and in doing so I have spark. I did notice on the one pin connection to the pulars was a bitt loose so I added some solder to it. And everything seems to be working fine. I appreciate everyone's help and now I have a good understanding of the electrical system on these carts. Thanks again guys.

Re: 99 txt dies intermittently
Everything was runny fine, took the kids trick or treating. Towards the end of the night it started acting up again. Found the blue wire that was loose and wiggled it. Would start and then kept doing it, but eventually it didn’t matter. Finally got it home and pulled the connector off and crimped it down, would roll over a couple of times and then stop. Now it won’t even roll the starter over. Head lights work and batteries good but nothing.
Going to try and jump the solenoid to see what happens. |

Re: 99 txt dies intermittently
I replaced the solenoid and that didn't make a difference. I check the micro switch and its working fine as far as testing it with an ohm meter. I've narrowed it down to the forward reverse switch. If I move it back and forth after it dies it will get it started. Sometimes I have to drive in reverse for a second and then throw it in forward. I will try and pull the lever apart and clean it but what connection would have this effect on the cart running.
Thanks |
