Default Marathon motor mounts

Im having a little brain cramp. I can't remember which side goes up. Also im wondering why im replacing all 4 mounts already as they were new last winter. All 4 were split so bad the sleeves were coming out. This side up or down? thanks in advanced.

The rubber they are making stuff from now is awful!!My Dad just finished his 55' Chevy,He pulled the hood/cowl weatherstrip out of the package, and put it on the car last year.1yr. later it looks like its' 30yrs old,and it hasn't seen daylight yet!!I think the mount goes in opposite of how you have it,but I'd have to look at my old cradle to be sure.

I hear ya on that!! I rebuilt a old 8N tractor a few years ago, and replaced all the tierod boots. Within a year they were all cracked and falling apart!

In the 1989 to 93 manual is says "Install new mounts with the long side down."
Here is a link to the thread with the manual. It is in chapter H if you only want to down load that. Hope I did the link right.

Thanks Popatop for the manual!!

Thanks tabaker! I better check my manual. I didn't think that would be in there.
