Carbs should just suck and not blow ?
I have the air hose and box off my 93 DS and when the starter starts to turn over I notice air blowing out of the carb, almost in a cycle. I was under the impression that the only force should be suction. Would it be a valve needing adjustment causing this? Any other ideas? The cart runs fine, it is just a bit of a pain to get started.

One cylinder engines do this. This is why a 1cyl runs like crap with no airbox installed. On mine, you can rev it up, and watch fuel spit out the front of carb, to be pulled right back in on the next cycle.

OK, so its not an unusual thing. Good, now to figure out the hard start. It is almost like you have to feather the gas pedal and fool with the choke at the same time.
