ez-yam mutt body swap
I finally found a body that ALMOST fits my g-29
a very flexie ez-go 94 body was for sale cheap locally looks like PVC when cut maybe abs or some other mix for sure not fiber glass anyone know what it is made of exactly and if any glue will stick to it ??? will heat allow bent areas to stay bent ? it came with all the trim, dash, covers, bumpers, and good seats unlike most of the other bodys I have seen that tend to just be a outer shell with out all the other bits needed to keep rain off the guts of the cart I had to recut the shifter and choke holes trim the seat post area and trim the front lip off the bottom of the rear the 10'' wheels with 23'' dirt tyres will need a minor trim on the rear very back bit of the body but should work unlifted fine as I doNOT have any thing under it like wheel wells yes it is a bit narrow but is flexie so it can be made to fit ok looks like the front cowl will be a bit harder to fit as it is about 2'' too narrow for the g-29 front I may need to cut it and use something to stretch/space it wider dash will need some work to fit also maybe also a cut and space |

Re: ez-yam mutt body swap
going stainless
I found the cover for a gas grill it has both an innerliner and a outer and close to the curve of the cowl so I can use it as a sandwich over and under to spread the front about 3'' that and a cut to the dash to match and my franken cart will be covered back is on I added a shaved down 2x2 under the seat so the weight is on the steel frame not just the body next problem will be making the clubcar roof fit back supports bolt to the seat back frame but the fronts will need some work may be some more 2x2 under the cowl btw the body is a thermo plastic TPO or TEO |

What's your reason for wanting to make a different body fit?

I got it with just the mechanical bits and frame running+driving can't find a local G-29 body [used] or cheap dealer prices are insane for new parts esp for all the parts even the repaint guys want 500-650 plus core charges if you lack a trade in body then more for seats covers ect wanted a body to keep rain off the parts and a better seats found a complete ez-go body WITH ALL THE PARTS [cheap] off a mid 90's cart that had a rusted frame locally it had all the bits dash, covers, liners, seats, ect rear fit with minor mods relocate the shifter & choke holes [ was el cart] a bit of minor cutting to fit the seat supports front was split and widened 3'' to cover the front wheels SS grill cover was cut up used to cover the split [ free trash pick] club-car roof was already owned by me and sorta fits back fits on the seat supports and bolts up front required some extra brackets be made |

when finished
and when somebody has a cam I donot even have a cell ph myself btw what is the dash made of [black plastic ]the part came with the ez-go ? is it the same thermo-plastic as the body ? and what is the g-29 floor and under dash made of also same plastic or different ? can they be glued together or heat melted only if heat can trimed bits be used to bond or do I have to buy the repair strips ? |

Re: ez-yam mutt body swap
If it can be heated/plastic welded trimmed bits will be the best material to use. Just make sure that any paint or contaminants are removed from all the places you'll be melting.
Other than that, I know nothing that can be of help. |
