Default G2 gas, delayed start.

Older G2, new battery, cables are in good shape and ends cleaned.

When I push the accelerator, the cart pretty much does nothing for about 2 or 3 second then takes off like it should.
I can here the solenoid click when the pedal is pushed, and after the pause it cranks and fires up pretty much instantly and drives off. Kinda makes it sketching crossing a road in front of oncoming traffic. Any ideas?

Thanks
Randy

I've had the same problem in my G8 for a while now. I've just dismissed it to the fact that I have an old battery that probably isn't up to par. Everybody on here has said it's most likely battery voltage that causes that.

Although you're saying that you have a new battery. How much voltage are you reading across the neg (-) and pos (+) terminals without load and with a load? Without a load should be around 13.5 volts.

Have you lifted the seat and watched it trying to start? Your starter/generator pulley could be slipping on the belt before it grabs and starts the engine.

Also check and clean grounds to the motor. Clean connections to the solenoid and any other connections that you can find.

Also could be the stop switch under the gas pedal.

I would agree but my starter brushes are new looking and mine still does it but I know that my battery is old so that's what I'm figuring my problem to be.

Battery just check the voltage while starting.

It can also be your gen belt slipping until it heats up.

Connection issues with the cables can be nasty, I had to file the inside out of my cables and file down the outside of the battery posts. This one time it would not start once in a while. I kept messing with the cables and clamps, used a battery brush/cleaner, nothing worked until I filed them to new metal.

Put it in neutral, lift the seat and watch the gen pulley while you press the pedal just enough to start it. If it spins its the belt, if not its the wiring or gen or maybe solenoid but they usually work or don't. Mine went bad it would not work then few tries it would, eventually a lot of tries and it would not start at all lol.
