Trying to decide on tires and sizes
I have a 2005 Yamaha G22 gas. I ordered a Jakes 3 inch spindle lift from Plowmans. He tells me 22 inch tires fit perfectly with that lift. I'm thinking about going with 22x11x10 GBC Dirt Devils on the rear and 22x8x10 Dirt Devils in the front. I see most people seem to run the same size tire on all 4 corners. Personally I'm not really a fan of that look. Probably my ATV's background. Any reason not to go with the narrower front tire? It should turn a little better I would imagine. What about that tire choice? Anyone run those?

Trying to decide on tires and sizes
Usually 4 wheelers except the newer ones with independent all around run different offset and width rims on the front and back, golf carts all run the same rims and offset all the way around so its pointless to have 2 different width tires, if your worried about the front sticking out more than the rear, run spacers on just the back because the front will always be wider abd youll gain more stability, i have the efx hammer tires on mine and they are 23x9.5-14's, mine is not running any spacers front or rear, its a 2005 g22 with a jakes 6"...

Re: Trying to decide on tires and sizes
I like the idea of all 4 corners being the same so you can rotate tires. I run 10" wide tires on my cart.

Re: Trying to decide on tires and sizes
I like the big tire look on all 4 corners plus it's better for running 2 wheel drive on softer terrain if you have wider tires up front. And, it's better when it comes to rotating as well.

It had 12" itps when i got it and some off brand 23's , those rode like hell, they were way outta round, after i did the whole plowmans deal it went from 22 mph to over 30 mph, so it needed good tires (it was sketchy with the old ones),found that tire and wheel package and had to have it, those tires ride awesome perfectly smooth and straight, love the look of the 14's, definatly glad i went that route

Re: Trying to decide on tires and sizes
Ok so I ran into a BIG snag. I installed the Jakes 3 inch spindle lift today. Bolted the front 22 inch tires/wheels on the front. Turned the wheel both directions everything looks great no tire rub rite now at least. Moving on to the rear I bolted on the rear tires/wheels and I have maybe a half inch clearance between the tire and the rear frame rail. When I bought the lift from Plowmans I asked 5 times your sure 22s fit with a 3 inch lift. He said absolutely we do it all the time. I originally wanted a 6 inch lift that he talked me out of but thats a whole nother story. Anyways he guaranteed me they work with the 3 inch. He said that there may be a little trimming of plastic needed. I cant see how these will work without some serious metal fabrication to the rear frame tube and crossmember. I tried calling him and of course just my luck they are on winter hours and only open Mon.-Wed. Its going to be a LOOOOOONG weekend waiting to talk to Don. Anyone here listen to his suggestion and do the same thing and know what the fix is?
